xxxx BMW Z3 2.3L Roadster Convertible in Atlanta Blue Metallic with tan top and interior as seen on the James Bond Goldeneye movie. 2.5L Straight 6 Automanual. It has around 127,XXX miles on it. It's just too small for me and my wife to commute together every day but is an excellent weekend fun machine or solo daily-driver. We bought a larger convertible for every day and can't keep both.
After I bought it, before we really drove it to work every day, I had the engine thoroughly gone through so I'd know it was ready to go anywhere. Shop bill of about $1,300 of work on it since we got it: a tune-up on the engine (new premium plugs, belt, fluids-Mobil1 Synthetic). As all of the BMW engines this age, the oil filter housing gasket was leaking when I bought it so that has been replaced as well as the air intake filters, rubber baffles, MAF sensor and crankcase breather valves (essentially everything that needed to be done to keep this vehicle running like a top for the next 100k miles). Also, for the days when you can't put the top down, the AC system has been inspected and coolant has been recharged and everything is operating correctly and blowing ice cold air.
I believe the 2.5L straight 6 cyl e36 type motor is one of the best BMW ever made, easy to work on and has a nice exhaust hum, lots of power for such a small car.
The convertible top has been cleaned and protected.
Front bumper has kissed a curb and needs some minor work and repaint and the back bumper needs clearcoat stripped and reapplied.
There are little cosmetic things that I wanted to fix over time, as to be expected of a 16 y.o. vehicle. The driver leather seat has a split in the seam and the small plastic trim around some areas of the door panel need to be replaced. Just as all of the Z3's have the saggy glovebox issue, there is a $20 eBay kit that will solve that problem, just haven't taken the time to fix it...
ABSOLUTELY NO mechanical needs - this is a very solid car and shows well!
This is a great looking fun-to-drive little car.
